Oman, through its State Financial and Administrative Audit Authority, took part in the 27th virtual meeting of Deputy Heads of GCC Audit and Accounting Institutions. This gathering focused on preparing for the 7th GCC Competition for Research and Studies in Auditing and Accounting. It also contemplated a proposal to create an AI-driven platform to streamline the committee’s work and its outcomes.
During the meeting, participants examined recommendations from past research competitions and discussed training programs scheduled for 2025 and 2026. The conversation highlighted the importance of these initiatives in enhancing the region’s auditing and accounting capabilities.
Further deliberations included examining the agenda for the upcoming meeting of GCC audit institution heads. Officials also outlined activities for the next GCC Financial and Administrative Audit Week, which is designed to bolster regional cooperation in public auditing and financial oversight.
The meeting underscored the collective efforts of the GCC member states to improve auditing standards and practices. By discussing these strategic initiatives and future plans, the participating countries aim to foster a more integrated approach to financial and administrative auditing across the region.
