Oman and Tanzania are actively exploring opportunities to boost trade and investment cooperation between their countries, focusing on expanding economic ties and fostering private-sector partnerships. A delegation from Oman’s Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion recently visited Tanzania to engage with government officials, economic institutions, and the business community.
During the visit, discussions centered on identifying potential investment areas and encouraging collaboration between businesses in both nations. Ibtisam Ahmed Al Farooji, Undersecretary for Investment Promotion at the Omani ministry, emphasized the strategic significance of Tanzania as an economic partner in East Africa. She highlighted Oman’s commitment to enhancing cooperation in sectors with strong investment potential.
The Omani delegation underscored the advantages of Oman’s strategic location, robust infrastructure, and investment incentives, such as the Golden Residency Programme, which are designed to attract international investors and facilitate long-term business partnerships. They also discussed the potential for Omani companies to expand their presence in African markets, while simultaneously connecting Tanzanian businesses with opportunities in Oman.
Officials from both countries emphasized the importance of stronger communication between government institutions and private-sector representatives to develop joint projects. This visit is part of Oman’s broader initiative to expand its economic partnerships across Africa, building upon its longstanding relations with Tanzania.
