The Ministry of Labour in Oman has announced that the country will celebrate its National Day holiday on November 25 and 26, 2026. This decision allows citizens and residents to enjoy an extended break, as the holiday falls on a Wednesday and Thursday, leading into the weekend.
The announcement is part of Oman’s official calendar of national and religious holidays for 2026, providing advance notice to help both public and private sector organizations plan their activities and work schedules accordingly. This early announcement is intended to facilitate better preparation and organization for the holiday period.
In addition to National Day, Oman will observe several other significant holidays in 2026. These include Sultan’s Accession Day on January 15, Al Isra’a Wal Mi’raj on January 18, the Hijri New Year on June 18, and the Prophet Muhammad’s Birthday on August 27. The specific dates for Eid Al Fitr and Eid Al Adha will be announced separately, as they depend on the sighting of the moon.
National Day is a significant occasion in Oman, marked by various events and activities across the country’s governorates. These celebrations serve to highlight Oman’s rich heritage, culture, and national identity, fostering a sense of unity and pride among its people.
