Oman’s Minister of Heritage and Tourism, Sayyid Ibrahim Said Al Busaidi, recently visited Italy to discuss potential collaborations aimed at enhancing tourism development, heritage preservation, and cultural exchange between the two countries. During his visit, Al Busaidi engaged with various Italian officials and institutions to explore how Italian expertise could benefit Oman’s tourism sector.
In discussions with the Italian Alpine Club and Renco Company, Al Busaidi focused on developing mountain and adventure tourism in Oman. The talks centered on leveraging Italian experience in trail development and related services to diversify Oman’s tourism offerings. This initiative is part of a broader strategy to draw on global expertise to expand Oman’s tourism products while safeguarding its cultural heritage.
Al Busaidi also visited the Colosseum Archaeological Park, where he met with its management to gain insights into archaeological site preservation, heritage management, and improving visitor experiences. These discussions highlighted opportunities for exchanging expertise and enhancing professional capabilities in heritage management.
Further expanding Oman’s tourism potential, Al Busaidi met with representatives of Inter Milan to discuss promoting Oman through sports tourism. This meeting aimed to use the international platform of sports to showcase Oman’s tourism attractions to a broader audience.
In addition to these meetings, Al Busaidi attended a presentation on the Italian tourism market, identifying potential ways to strengthen Oman’s presence in Italy. He also engaged with Italian media organizations to highlight Oman’s cultural heritage, historical sites, and diverse tourism experiences, aiming to attract more visitors from target markets.
